Witchduck Road Phase II
RS&H is providing construction engineer and inspection services to the City of Virginia Beach for the Witchduck Road Phase II LAP. This roadway widening project constructs a six-lane divided roadway on a 143-foot to 165-foot variable right-of-way from I-264 to Virginia Beach Boulevard, a distance of approximately 2,600’. The project provides much needed traffic congestion relief providing passage to the second highest volume traffic counts within the City of Virginia Beach, drainage improvement, and community-focused enhancements to address the City of Virginia Beach’s growing infrastructure needs. Specific construction activities include roadway fill and base work; roadway widening; asphalt paving; drainage structure and pipe installation; utility duct back installation throughout the project limits for Dominion Virginia Power, Verizon, Level One Communications, and Virginia Beach Schools; construction of 2 BMP’s totaling 44,000 CY of excavation; existing structure demolition; sidewalk and cross walk improvements; traffic signals; water main installation; and additional utility relocations.
