Keys Coast Project Planning and Solicitation Technical Oversight and Support
The Keys Connecting Overseas to Advance Safe Travel (COAST) is a first of its kind project for FDOT D6 to deploy Connected and Automated Vehicle (CAV) solutions along the 112.5-mile-long US-1 in Monroe County, Florida. This project will advance the multimodal safety, mobility, and economic development goals of the FDOT CAV Business Plan. To mitigate against the inherent risk of technological innovation, RS&H was engaged to provide an independent review of the Request for Proposal (RFP) package prior to solicitation, assistance during the evaluation of candidate vendors, and other consulting support. RS&H’s services ensured that the solicitation materials were complete, technically feasible, and provided strategic value to FDOT D6 upon project execution. We identified and reconciled major gaps and prepared FDOT D6 for the known technical challenges and project risks, drawing on lessons-learned from similar deployments nationwide. We wrote modifications to and provided comprehensive technical editing of the Concept of Operations, System Requirements, Project Systems Engineering Management Plan, Keys COAST Test Plan, and Solicitation documents.
