RS&H is serving as engineer-of-record for three segments of the expressway representing over $459 million in total construction costs: SR 23/US 90 interchange (completed), Clay north, and Clay south.
RS&H’s thorough understanding of railroad guidelines and evaluation of hazards to navigable airspace allowed the Tollway’s jurisdictional agency coordination to continue without delay. RS&H’s analysis reduced the size of the I-490 bridge by over 30 percent, saving more than $20 million in planning level costs for the Tollway.
Working in concert with Wells Fargo leadership, RS&H designers introduced the work café concept where employees were encouraged to use the space not only to eat their lunch, but to work as well. Initially launched through test-fits, the work café was so favorably received that it has now become a design standard for Wells Fargo.
NASA Kennedy Space Center entrusted RS&H to vet the feasibility of and design modifications to the Space Launch System (SLS) Mobile Launcher. The 355-foot-tall mobile launcher is designed to support the assembly, testing, check out, and servicing of NASA’s SLS rockets, as well as transfer the rockets to the pad.
