Safety Expert Josh Chaffin Joins RS&H as Director of Health & Safety

[Jacksonville, Fla.] – RS&H announced that Josh Chaffin, CSP, has joined the employee-owned, national engineering, architecture, and consulting firm as the new director of health and safety.  

“The physical, mental, and emotional well-being of our associates is paramount to everything we do,” said Tara Wineinger, RS&H’s Chief People Officer. “We want everyone to return home safe to their families at the end of the day. It’s part of our DNA – our culture of care, and we’re excited for Josh’s leadership as we continue to strive for excellence in our safety practices and programs at RS&H.”    

Chaffin brings over 25 years of experience in the safety field, developing workplace and worksite safety programs across diverse sectors, from civil design and construction to heavy industrial, chemical plants, and nuclear remediation. As the Director of Health & Safety at RS&H, he will be responsible for developing and implementing an enterprise approach to safety that continues to foster and advance a highly engaged, cohesive, and behavior-based safety culture at the firm.  

“I’m looking forward to integrating my passion, extensive experience, and innovative approaches to contribute to RS&H’s safety culture,” said Chaffin. “Safety is a ‘team sport,’ and I am excited to collaborate with a talented team, driving forward initiatives that not only enhance safety standards but also actively engage and empower every associate in the safety process.” 

Chaffin holds a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety and Health from Columbia Southern University and is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP). Chaffin is also a veteran, having served in the US Marine Corps.
