[Kissimmee, Fla.] The City of Kissimmee and community members gathered to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the City Hall Addition, a 12,500-square-foot expansion designed to enhance municipal service delivery and support emergency management efforts. The project, which began with a vision of resilience and customer-focused outcomes, was executed with design and post-design expertise provided by RS&H, a national employee-owned architecture, engineering, and consulting firm.

The two-story addition complements the existing City Hall’s architectural style, seamlessly integrating both form and function. The new space features office facilities for essential city departments, including the building division and fire prevention staff, as well as an Emergency Operations Center designed to strengthen the city’s disaster response capabilities. A welcoming customer waiting area was also incorporated to improve public accessibility.

RS&H’s contributions to the project encompassed a broad range of design and engineering solutions, from evaluating the suitability of the site location to the detailed architectural, landscape, stormwater, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical designs. Post-design services included shop drawing reviews, site inspections, regular progress updates, and a comprehensive facility walk-through.

“This project stands as a testament to thoughtful design and collaboration,” said John Rice, RS&H’s Area Discipline Leader for Program Management. “We are proud to have the opportunity to partner with the City of Kissimmee on this significant addition, which reflects the community’s commitment to exceptional service delivery and preparedness for the future.”

With an estimated construction cost of $12 million, the City Hall Addition opened several months ahead of schedule.

RS&H’s involvement underscores our commitment to helping clients achieve their goals through innovative, resilient outcomes. From the project’s inception to its final stages, we upheld our commitment to excellence, ensuring every element of the design prioritized functionality, sustainability, and community impact.
