Tree of Life Distribution Center
Tree of Life, Inc., is one of the largest certified organic distributors in the US. In order to consolidate a previously split group of facilities located in both St. Augustine and Jacksonville, Florida, the company desired a single facility. The new Southeast Reserve Storage Facility located in St. Augustine increases the efficient response to requests for product shipping. RS&H provide architectural, engineering, planning, and environmental services for the storage facility.
The 234,000-square-foot facility, in which 15,000 square feet were designed as cooler/freezer storage, is air conditioned and humidity controlled, providing a high-quality environment for products. The facility provides workers with 12,500 square feet of office and computer space. Additionally, the distribution center was designed to conserve energy, with the implementation of an automated lighting control system that uses motion detectors.
