Asheville Regional Airport
RS&H completed program management, resident project representation, and construction administration services for a four-phase runway redevelopment program, including a new 8,000-foot by 150-foot runway, connector taxiways, medium intensity approach lighting system with runway alignment indicator lights (MALSR), and instrument landing systems. A new parallel taxiway was constructed for use as a temporary runway while the main runway was reconstructed. The project required constant coordination with the FAA, contractors, airlines, and general aviation tenants, and was the Airport’s first project that required a Safety Risk Assessment.
