Colorado native and Department of Transportation (CDOT) veteran Corey Stewart, PE, has joined RS&H as the engineering, architecture and consulting firm’s Colorado North Leader.

Stewart brings more than 28 years of progressive experience dedicated to Colorado’s transportation industry. He joins RS&H after serving as a program engineer with CDOT for the past eight years.

Stewart was involved in the emergency response for the 2013 floods and oversaw the coordination of the emergency response and multiple permanent repair projects that restored canyon roadways wiped out by the floods. He also oversaw the U.S. Highway 34 CMGC Reconstruction, which was named the 2018 Project of the Year by Engineering News-Record.

“We’ve always recognized Corey’s leadership capabilities and that his philosophy and approach in construction aligned well with ours,” said RS&H Western Region CEI Leader Fred Holderness. “We’re excited for him to join us and continue our growth in Colorado.”

After graduating from the Colorado School of Mines, Stewart began his career as an Inspector/Tester and then earned his PE in the field before taking on roles such as Pavement Management Program Manager, Resident Engineer, Program Engineer, and finally Project Director for CDOT.

“I have enjoyed mentoring junior level staff and working with project stakeholders to solve issues in the field,” Stewart said. “RS&H offers an opportunity in Construction Management to continue my passion for building projects on the construction management side while establishing an even stronger reputation and presence for RS&H in Northern Colorado.”

Stewart is based in RS&H’s Johnstown office and can be reached at Corey.Stewart@RSandH.com.
