In Florida Keys, RS&H Gives One-of-a-Kind Charity Golf Tournament a Swing
RS&H associates participated in the Conch Scramble, which raises funds for several area education, health and nature charities. By way of CEI Project Administrator Jackson Taylor’s and CEI Senior Inspector Pablo Mitjans’ boats, they traveled from dock to dock along the Keys, taking their best golf shots toward floating greens out in the Gulf of Mexico. Associates Inspire Next Generation of Women in STEM
Jacksonville associates attended a conference hosted by Expanding Your Horizons, a national nonprofit, to teach attendees about engineering. They explained concepts like tension and compression to groups of middle-school aged girls and then put them to work, instructing them to make bridges out of straws.

Aviation Associate Flies Dogs to Better Future
Nearly a decade ago, as Pilots N Paws expanded into North Carolina, the then new non-profit recruited RS&H aviation manager Tom Slater to help fly abandoned or injured dogs on missions to veterinary care facilities, rescue organizations, or new owners. Read more >
RS&H Elevates Two Austin Charities at Officers Meeting
In Austin, RS&H supported the Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas and the Ronald McDonald House of Central Texas with a toy drive. With all of the RS&H officers – nearly 100 in all – in town, everyone was able to participate in the donation. The team collected several tables full of toys – enough stuffed animals, puzzles and toys to fill 13 Radio Flyer wagons. Read more >
Brian Nazarian wins R. Ray Goode Community Service Award
Each month, Brian Nazarian and his son, Wolfgang, load their utility trailer with tools and materials and head out to rendezvous with their team of volunteers in San Antonio, Texas. This year, Brian received a citizenship accolade of his own, as the recipient of RS&H’s R. Ray Goode Community Service Award.

RS&H Associates Design Wheelchair-Fitting Costumes for Halloween
For four years now, RS&H architects, engineers, interior designers and associates have worked together to create special Halloween costumes for children of the Jacksonville’s Independent Living Resource Center (ILRC). And every year, they try to outdo themselves with their wheelchair-fitting costume creations. This year, there was a Star Wars X-wing fighter, a locomotive, a sleigh and a ring of 3D-printed buildings that make up the Jacksonville skyline ready for their reveal. Read more >
RS&H Elevate Fund Touches 11 Charities in First Give
Earlier this year, the RS&H Board of Directors launched an initiative to dedicate a portion of the firm’s corporate profits to provide grants to nonprofit organizations. The firm made its first donation this year – $50,000 across 11 nonprofit groups. RS&H aims to provide grants to nonprofit organizations that focus on helping people in need, supporting children and youth programs, and enhancing education. Read more >
Elevate Fund Supports Title I Kindergartners’ Visit to Nature Center
As part of the RS&H Elevate fund, Tree Hill Nature Center was given just over $4,000 that will allow about 500 Title I kindergartners to visit the center. The good news doesn’t stop with the Elevate Fund grant. After RS&H announced the gift, a private donor stepped in to donate an additional $15,000 to Tree Hill, multiplying the number of children able to visit the nature preserve. Read more >
The Discovery Science Place Receives RS&H Elevate Fund Grant
RS&H’s Tyler, Texas office presented an award for $5,000 from the RS&H Elevate Fund to the Discovery Science Place museum of Tyler, Texas. The grant will go to help support students participating in these programs and to help continue the Discovery Science Place museum’s mission of promoting education in STEM.

RS&H Elevate Fund Feeds 3,800 Seniors with Meals on Wheels San Antonio
RS&H Regional Planning Service Group Leader Amanda O’Krongley has been delivering dinners from Meals on Wheels to homebound seniors in San Antonio for a dozen years now. The public-private partnership enables seniors to remain healthy and independent in their own homes, avoiding more costly healthcare alternatives. A grant from the RS&H Elevate Fund will make a day’s worth of meals for 3,800 seniors in the San Antonio Meals on Wheels program. Read more >
Elevate Fund Supports Expansion of Heritage Camps for Adoptive Families’ Youth Programs
Heritage Camps for Adoptive Families was one of 11 charities to receive funding in the first donation of the RS&H Elevate Fund which was launched this year. This donation will support the expansion of youth programs and contribute to the resources and experiences that this organization offers to connect adoptive parents and adoptees alike. Read more >
