Celebrating RS&H’s 2022 Annual Award Winners

Every year, our Annual Associate Awards program allows us to recognize the accomplishments of select colleagues who embody RS&H’s core values. In their efforts to elevate our firm, these associates display dedication within their disciplines – and the persistence to deliver unmatched services to their clients, alongside their teams and for the greater good of their communities.

Congratulations to the following 2022 Annual Award Winners!

Project Manager of the Year: Keith Bogart

Headshot of project manager of the year Keith BogartKeith Bogart has been with RS&H for 13 years and is known for bringing a broad perspective to his profession and his day-to-day interactions with fellow associates and clients.

Throughout his career, he has gained experience serving as a project manager on roadway widening, interchange, and limited access projects throughout Florida. His successes at RS&H include his versatile management practices on the 1-95 PD&E/Design Project – a $353 million project that worked to alleviate the last major bottleneck along the heavily congested section of I-95.

Keith not only excels in his on-site management skills with his fellow associates but also focuses on client satisfaction, ensuring that the projects he manages represent RS&H’s purpose and core values.

Young Professional of the Year: Courtney Hance

Headshot of young professional of the year Courtney HanceCourtney Hance began her career with RS&H in 2017 after graduating from Clemson University in South Carolina with her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.

By immersing herself in the First Coast Expressway Owner’s Representative Contract (FDOT District 2), she began to show her ambition through taking on challenging drainage tasks, coordinating production efforts among design associates and sub-consultants and providing design direction and reviews to ensure quality.

Courtney represents RS&H as a professional ambassador at events hosted by popular industry organizations including the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) and the JAX Chamber of Commerce. In 2019, she volunteered to be a facilitator at the Girl Scouts STEM Camp as part of RS&H’s Elevate Fund grant program. A well-rounded professional, Courtney dedicates herself to going the extra mile to make the RS&H community great.

Professional Practitioner of the Year: Vanessa Vitale

In her nine years at RS&H, Vanessa Vitale has assisted on over 40 projects – 11 of which she served as lead drainage engineer and three as a project manager.

With a combination of knowledge and experience, Vanessa serves is responsible for stormwater resource activities for transportation, infrastructure, and environmental projects. She has her Professional Engineer licensure in several states including Colorado, Florida and Georgia.

Vanessa excels at developing cost-saving solutions for challenging drainage problems. She has worked on several high-profile jobs, one being the multiple award-winning Crosstown Parkway Extension – where Vanessa led the drainage design and permitting efforts.

Along with her personal accomplishments within RS&H, Vanessa never fails to show her appreciation for those around her. She is known for using the quote “It takes a village,” when describing teamwork and how every member of a team is valuable and appreciated.

Impact Award: Cathy Scott

Impact award winner Cathy Scott

A longtime member of the RS&H community, Cathy Scott’s impact is widespread across the company. Cathy has been with RS&H for four decades and oversees the company’s qualifications and compliance efforts. Through her work, she has helped RS&H grow its revenue, geographic footprint and associate talent.

Cathy is an instrumental in ensuring RS&H teams are prequalified and positioned to succeed in our markets. Her efforts help advance strong relationships with clients nationwide.

Cathy’s peers commend her efforts and skillset, acknowledging her role in building the critical, internal infrastructure that enables RS&H to contribute to the communities we live and work in. To quote a colleague, “Cathy bleeds RS&H blue.”

Community Volunteer: Jeremy Haywood

Jeremy Haywood has been a role model for many since he joined RS&H four years ago. While demonstrating his pride and dedication to his work, he goes above and beyond to serve his communities as well.

Since 2018, Jeremy has been an active volunteer with the Colorado Association of Black Professional Engineers and Scientists (CABPES), whose mission is to encourage and assist Black students and other underrepresented minority youth in the pursuit and attainment of STEM professions.

He serves as a role model that inspires the young individuals in this organization, focusing on tutoring middle and high school students in STEM subjects. In addition to volunteering, he works hard to raise funds for the organization and drive its valuable programming.

Jeremy is also an RS&H representative at the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO), a conference created to provide a forum for senior minority professionals in the transportation industry. As a founding member of the BUILT Black Professional Leadership Network here at RS&H, Jeremy demonstrates each day that he is a valued role model for individuals of all ages.

He is a former full-time Army officer and continues to serve as a reserve officer – further proving his dedication to serve.
