Mathews Bridge Documentary Selected for International Film Festival

March 11, 2015

“In the Blink of an Eye,” a documentary that tells the story of the Mathews Bridge repairs, was selected for 9th Annual Gasparilla International Film Festival in Tampa, Florida. RS&H and Five Studios produced the short film that shows how the repair team came together to fix the bridge for the Jacksonville community in 28 days after it was severely damaged. To the team, this one was personal—they did it all for the people of Jacksonville who will never know any of their names.

The film was accepted in the Short Programs, a juried competition featuring the best US, college, and high school short films. Its scheduled showing is Thursday, March 26th at 10:15 p.m. at Channelside Cinemas, 615 Channelside Dr., Tampa, Florida.

From March 24-29, the community is invited to indulge in the love of film and art of storytelling. Last year’s festival captured more than 15,000 attendees from 980 cities around the world. This year should prove an even bigger success, not just in record-breaking attendance but in film quality and quantity.

Both the Grand Jury and the Audience Choice Awards will be announced during the Award Ceremony on Sunday, March 29th at 4:30 p.m. at the Lieser Skaff Alexander Theater 1 at Channelside Cinemas.
