The I-4 Ultimate project was recognized in February as the Americas Transportation Deal of the Year by Project Finance International (PFI). The awards dinner was held in Park Lane, London. The PFI awards are part of the Thomson Reuters Awards for Excellence, recognizing corporate and individual success in the global financial industry.

The project reached commercial and financial close on September 4, 2014. The procurement showcased effective use of established methods and processes, boosting Florida’s reputation as a leader in the US public-private partnership (P3) market for procuring and delivering large-scale, complex infrastructure projects using the availability payment P3 model.

RS&H is providing Owner’s Representative services to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for the $2 billion I-4 Ultimate Corridor Improvements. This huge P3 project will rebuild 21 miles of interstate, replace 140 bridges, and add two tolled express lanes in each direction. The project also reconfigures 15 major interchanges and increases the highway design speed to 60 miles per hour. Construction began in early 2015, and the project is expected to be complete in 2021.
