[Jacksonville, FL] – RS&H partnered with the Haskell Company and Jacksonville’s Thrive Scholars, to host a dozen local high school students at their headquarters office to learn about career paths in the architecture, engineering and construction industry (A/E/C industry). Thrive is a national nonprofit organization that focuses on “providing high-achieving, diverse, and underrepresented students the opportunities they need to thrive at top colleges and in meaningful careers.” Students then toured multiple projects ranging from roadway and transportation to corporate buildings and interior design. Thrive Scholars spent the day gaining valuable knowledge from the engineers and architects who worked on these projects and project stakeholders. The experience gave them a comprehensive vision of what a career in the A/E/C industry could be like.
RS&H associates helping lead the tour were CEO David Sweeny, PE; AVP, Infrastructure Area Leader, CJ Youmans, PE, CFM; AVP Regional Discipline Leader, Highways, Kieth Bogart, PE; and Project Manager/Interior Designer, Briehn Wildman, IIDA, NCIDQ, along with Thrive Scholars Jacksonville Executive Director, Hannah Oberholzer, and Haskell representatives, Dave Auchter, Robert Jackson, PE, and Paul McElroy, DBIA.
