John Paul Dolan Joins RS&H in North Carolina
RS&H has hired John Paul Dolan, as its Raleigh Studio Leader. Dolan is tasked with growing the architecture, engineering and consulting firm’s science and technology design efforts in North Carolina.
During his career with multi-disciplinary architectural firms and as a self-proprietor, Dolan has worked as principal, project manager, designer and project architect with numerous clients involved in science and technology, corporate commercial, higher education and urban design. Additionally, his experience within the construction industry has proven invaluable in better connecting the design process to construction and client satisfaction.
“John Paul has established himself in the health, science and technology industries as an architect who can work alongside many partners to bring a top-flight project to fruition,” said RS&H Vice President Scott Crawford. “We’re excited to have him join us and lead our design efforts in the Research Triangle.”
Dolan grew up in the Pacific Northwest and graduated from Washington State University with a bachelor’s degree in architecture. He moved to North Carolina in the early 1980s and has been around the Research Triangle ever since.
After starting his architecture career at two small firms in the area, Dolan spent several years at O’Brien Atkins Associates and more than 15 years at Perkins & Will as a senior project manager. Most recently, he has been managing architecture projects for his own firm, JPDA Consulting Architecture.
“Firm culture is No. 1 to me when it comes to choosing a place to work,” Dolan said. “It’s about the people you work with day to day. With that in mind, meeting everyone at RS&H has been an awesome experience.”
RS&H has long had a presence in North Carolina, establishing its first office outside of Florida there 40 years ago. Today, RS&H has offices in Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Charlotte, Asheville and Fayetteville.
