Managed by RS&H, the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA/SEA-TAC) Signage and Wayfinding Master Plan is an integral component of the airport’s ongoing efforts to enhance passenger experience and operational efficiency. This master plan addresses immediate needs and is designed to adapt to future growth and changes at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, ensuring a sustainable and efficient signage and wayfinding system for years to come.

Under the terms of our On-Call Planning agreement, RS&H embarked on a groundbreaking mission at SEA/SEA-TAC leading the charge in forging an all-encompassing Signage and Wayfinding Master Plan. This ambitious project was designed to transform the traveler’s experience, tackle existing navigational issues, and align with eco-friendly goals. Its primary aim was to redefine how travelers moved through the airport, providing a streamlined and intuitive path from their arrival to departure.

RS&H’s involvement with the development of the master plan transcended the typical analysis. We dedicated ourselves to deep stakeholder engagement, evaluating current systems, and drafting a vision of the future. Each part of our project was meticulously tailored to solve immediate problems and plan for and adapt to anticipated expansions, keeping pace with SEA-TAC’s aspiration to be at the forefront of domestic and international travel.

Sustainability and strategic approach

Our project’s success was not just measured by immediate results, but also by the enduring benefits it will bring. By prioritizing green initiatives, the use of recycled materials, and a reduced dependence on fossil fuels, we set the stage for long-term sustainability without necessitating immediate structural changes.

By harmonizing our coordination efforts and strategic foresight, RS&H delivered customized solutions to revolutionize the travel experience. The Signage and Wayfinding Master Plan that emerged offers a clear, strategic guide poised to improve wayfinding, slash operational expenses, and promote cooperative participation. Our comprehensive strategy marks this project as a thoughtfully integrated, progressive response, tailored specifically to meet the unique demands of SEA-TAC and establish the airport as a vanguard of traveler-focused journeys.
