Commissary Recommissioning, NCBC Gulfport, MS
Due to Mississippi’s humid climate, the Commissary at NCBC Gulfport incurred equipment condition problems. DeCA tapped RS&H for our knowledge of the climate and complete recommissioning expertise to evaluate the conditions and provide solutions.
RS&H established full recommissioning plan then conducted systematic investigation, analysis, and optimization of building system performance via the identification and correction of deficiencies, with particular emphasis on dehumidification. RS&H’s recommissioning work included an investigation phase for collecting current information (drawings, utility bills, control system setpoints and trend data, facility requirements, etc.), a site survey of the facility to determine equipment/facility condition and operation, an implementation phase to update operational parameters and facilitate any necessary repairs, and a turnover phase to let the owner know the outcome of the process with savings information.
This task order not only made this commissary to become energy efficient, but also supported DeCA’s facility initiative to recommission all stores worldwide that have sustained operational issues.
