RS&H has appointed corporate governance expert Lizanne Thomas to the engineering and architecture firm’s Board of Directors.
Under the Board’s oversight, RS&H has experienced growth across the country over the past several years and now ranks 47th on Engineering News-Record’s Top 500 Design Firms by revenue. Thomas will help continue the firm’s positive momentum and support the commitment of RS&H to a strong corporate culture of care.
“It’s a really exciting time to join RS&H as the company is performing incredibly well,” Thomas said. “Its employee ownership structure is really attractive, and it’s a culture here that expects excellence but does so in the rubric of great teamwork and support for one another.”
A Fellow of the American College of Governance Lawyers, Thomas has served as a partner at global law firm Jones Day since 1990. She currently leads the firm’s global corporate governance practice as well as Jones Day’s Southern region.
Thomas has served on boards of directors for national and international companies in the banking, software and restaurant industries. She is also a Trustee of the Georgia Research Alliance, Washington & Lee University and The Woodruff Arts Center in Atlanta. She earned her law degree from Washington & Lee and her bachelor’s degree from Furman University.
“We are thankful that Lizanne is joining our Board of Directors, as her expertise in corporate governance will serve us well as we continue to grow,” said RS&H CEO Dave Sweeney.
The RS&H Board works with the firm’s executive team and senior leadership to help guide the strategic direction of the employee-owned company. It advises, governs and assists in the management, oversight and promotion of RS&H in support of the firm’s growth, mission and core values.
“This is an exciting time for RS&H, and we couldn’t be more excited to have Lizanne join us on our journey forward,” said RS&H Board Chair David Gaboury. “With us all working together as one RS&H, the future of our people, our clients and our communities is bright.”
