SPO Distribution Center
This new General Motors Corporation SPO distribution facility was designed and built under a fast-track delivery program by the developer-designer-contractor team as the premier turn-key development in Jacksonville, Florida’s, newest commercial office and industrial park.
RS&H provide architecture and engineering services for the new state-of-the-art facility. The center is fully air conditioned and includes 30 dock-high loading berths with electric-hydraulic dock levelers and two ramped high-bay doors for fork lift access. The 40-foot by 50-foot structural bays provide 24 feet clear-height for high-pile storage. The facility also incorporates rail service that extends into the warehouse enclosure. The fire sprinkler system is an Early Suppression Fast Response (ESFR) system, providing excellence protection.
The exterior walls of the warehouse are 31 feet high, site cast, tilt-up concrete panels with textured exterior coating. Additionally, the 10,000-square-foot office block is enclosed in reflective, floor-to-ceiling double-pane glass. The entire complex is designed to accommodate future expansion to 452,000 square feet without disrupting operations.
