Special Operations Forces Dining Facility, Aberdeen Training Facility, Fort Bragg, NC
In support of our soldiers’ welfare, the RS&H design team worked hand-in-hand with the USACE Wilmington District to provide a new Special Operations Forces (SOF) dining facility.
RS&H coordinated all related cyber security requirements, incorporating the most current criteria into the design. Per ECB 2015-14, the design is in accordance with Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI) 8500.01, Cybersecurity, and DODI 8510.01 Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Information Technology (IT), as well as UFGS 25 05 11 Cybersecurity For Facility-Related Control Systems.
The RS&H team also provided multi-discipline design services, following the USACE Dining Facility Standards for a new facility, which includes areas for food preparation and cooking, serving, dining (500 person capacity), dishwashing, pot wash, waste disposal, cold and dry storage and administration. In addition, the design established an entrance/control area; a staff locker area; patrons’ restrooms; a receiving and loading dock; information systems; fire detection, alarm, and suppression systems; and Energy Monitoring Control Systems (EMCS) connection. Supporting facility work included site development, utilities and connections, lighting, paving, parking, walks, curbs and gutters, storm drainage, information systems, landscaping and signage.
During the design, construction, occupancy and operations phase, a Certified Commissioning Agent performed commissioning of the systems, and sustainability and energy measures were infused into this facility to meet LEED Silver requirements.
