SLS Main Flame Deflector Geometry Study
RS&H completed a study and produced electronic models for the Main Flame Deflector configurations for NASA’s Space Launch System and Commercial Launch Vehicles at Kennedy Space Center Launch Complex 39B. The purpose of this study was to develop four concepts for Main Flame Deflector configurations and develop two electronic models for NASA approved Space Launch System and/or Commercial Launch Vehicles Main Flame Deflector configurations and recommend a geometry concept for future Main Flame Deflector design and construction. The team ultimately recommended a geometry concept for the future Main Flame Deflector design and construction.
