Hurricane Dennis Restoration

After Hurricane Dennis hit the Florida Panhandle, several existing coastal roads needed reconstruction and stabilization of their slopes. RS&H was retained to perform Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) for two locations for Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Three.

The first location was SR 98, west of the Highland View Bridge. RS&H provided reconstruction of roadway, shoulders, guardrails, and rubble rip-rap for slope stabilization.  Work at the second location, located on Thomas Drive at Grand Lagoon Bridge included the stabilization of the end bent slope pavement.

These roads were critical for access to the local communities and were reconstructed in an expedited time frame and to the FDOT’s satisfaction.
