Group 83 I-95/I-4 Widening Projects
RS&H provided construction engineering and inspection (CEI) services for the Group 83 I-95/I-4 Widening Projects for FDOT District 5 in Volusia and Flagler Counties. The projects consisted of three interstate widenings on I-95 and design-build milling and resurfacing of 11.1 miles of I-4 from SR 44 to SR 600.
The I-95 projects involved adding a third lane in each direction to the median side, as well as widening several bridges. The bridge over SR 40 in Volusia County was replaced and the interchange at SR 100 in Flagler County was rebuilt.
Services included:

- Maintenance of traffic plan and implementation
- Earthwork for roadway construction
- Placement and compaction of base, structural, and friction courses
- Placement and compaction of subgrade, structural asphalt course, and friction asphalt course
- Structure repairs
- Drainage improvements and retention pond construction
- Installation of storm drainage, potable water, and sanitary sewer utilities
- Landscaping, tree placement, sodding and Seeding
- Demolition and removal of existing bridge structure
- Steel girder erection
- Bridge utility systems including bridge drainage and lighting
- High-strength bolting procedures at field splices
- Drilled shaft and foundation construction
- Pile driving construction

- Erection of false-work or temporary support structures
- Concrete placement for bridge construction
