Borland Groover Gastroenterology Clinic and MRI Expansion
The Borland Groover Clinic treats hundreds of thousands of patients annually for digestive disorders and conditions. To enhance the patient experience, the Jacksonville practice selected RS&H to design a new administrative clinic building and an MRI expansion for the south campus location.
The administrative facility is a 12,000-square-foot expansion located on the west side of the existing building and tying into the existing service yard. The building will house the executive suite for Borland Groover and will allow the existing third floor space to be back filled with clinical space. Executive, financial, and human resource functions currently housed in the main campus will be relocated to create new clinical space in the existing facility.
The new expansion is shaped to work with the flow of existing patient and vehicular traffic and provide lake views to all executive offices and lobby spaces. Additionally, RS&H designed a next generation data center to support growth, ensure security, and optimize performance.
The 1,300-square-foot MRI expansion provides a single source of services to clinic patients. The expanded services provide a total care experience in a more soothing environment that is indicative of the Borland Groover brand. The expansion ties into the existing structure, maintaining the integrity of the original exterior architecture. The interior spaces – comprised of the control room, MRI suite, equipment room, reaction room, and radiologist reading room – are organized for maximum use within a small footprint and focused on patient comfort.
