FSCJ Deerwood Center Remodel
This project for Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) consists of an expansion of the existing Deerwood Center via an 80,000-square-foot remodel in an existing shell space. The two-story, 80,000-square-foot space will contain ten classrooms, six science labs, a 24,000-square-foot Information Learning Center (media center and continuing education), a nursing suite, bookstore, performing arts center, student services area, student fitness center, and administration offices. Laboratories include teaching and preparatory labs for biology, biochemistry, anatomy, and earth sciences. Services provided include architecture, interior design, civil, landscape, MEP, IT, education specifications, selective demolition documents, and commissioning.
This space completes the transition of a former retail mall into Florida State College at Jacksonville’s Deerwood Center.
FSCJ Deerwood Center Backfill
This project for Florida State College at Jacksonville consists of the remodeling, renovation, and expansion of the existing backfill areas from a recent expansion of the center, also designed by RS&H, providing additional educational facilities for the students. The backfill area remodel/renovation includes expanded advising and enrollment services areas with a testing and assessment center, 20 new faculty offices, a large classroom, a Media Graphics Vocational Lab, renovated food service area, new IT offices, and upgrades to the data, phone, AV, HVAC, and fire alarm systems.
RS&H also provided all design and specifications for the new furniture systems and coordination of artwork and graphics.
