DuPage Airport
DuPage Airport is owned and operated by the DuPage Airport Authority. DuPage Airport serves as the primary designated reliever airport to O’Hare and Midway Airports and is home to nearly 370 based aircraft. Five recent RS&H projects at DuPage Airport have included environmental components – the Master Plan, Security System Upgrade, Drainage Study, Fencing Replacement, and RNAV Approach. The key issues addressed in the NEPA documentation included noise, air quality, threatened and endangered species, wetlands, historic properties, and land use compatibility. Other key issues included determining options for the relocation or modification to a major stormwater discharge facility that was limiting the development options in this area. Several of the projects were completed under accelerated time schedules.
Sustainability measures were incorporated into the design of the fencing replacement and security system upgrade.
