Chandlersville Haul Route Bridge and Culvert Inspections
RS&H identified and inspected culverts and structures along two separate heavy haul routes associated with the construction of a new natural gas compressor station. Haul Route 1 was 2.5 miles and included routine inspection of four culverts; two reinforced concrete slab structures, a reinforced concrete pipe, and a corrugated plastic pipe. Haul Route 2 was 6.5 miles and included 25 culverts and five bridges. A routine inspection was completed on these culverts consisting of various sizes and materials ranging from 12” plastic pipes to culverts pieced together by using 60” reinforced concrete pipes connecting to 72” corrugated metal pipe. Bridges on this route include a 10’ concrete slab, a 22’ concrete slab, a 63’ simple steel beam with corrugated metal deck, an 11’ simple combination concrete slab/steel beam, and a 700’ 7 span bridge with four pony truss spans and three steel beam approach spans.
