Who We Serve

RS&H’s worldwide reputation as a leading aviation consultant reflects its dedication to designing the best solutions for its clients. For more than 70 years, RS&H has successfully met all challenges regardless of the size, location, or nature of a project, from incorporating the unique character of a community into the design of a terminal, to satisfying the engineering and environmental requirements for a runway improvement, to addressing the future through detailed planning and visioning.

Our proven success in designing aviation systems has provided a cornerstone of progress for communities throughout the world by granting access to the global marketplace and serving as a major economic stimulus. More importantly, we have been the architects of the desired image communities want to project to its visitors. By understanding these opportunities and responding to the needs of the aviation industry, we continue to innovate, serving airports, airlines, concessionaires, governmental agencies, and private entities through four broad service areas:

  • Airfield – Runways, taxiways, aprons, and drainage
  • Buildings – Terminals, hangars, cargo facilities, administration buildings, and energy services
  • Environmental – Environmental studies, noise and land-use studies, and permitting
  • Planning – Master Plans, financial analysis, security planning, safety management systems, site selection studies, grant procurement, and air service development

RS&H offers a full range of planning, design, environmental, program management, and construction management services for all modes of transportation, including highways, transit, ports, rail, and trails.  From long-range corridor plans and tolling programs to local roads and transit hubs, we help our clients identify the best solutions for improving mobility, fostering economic growth, and enhancing the communities we serve.

Our integrated teams work closely with clients to address specific needs and challenges, overcome funding constraints, and deliver successful outcomes at each stage of a project’s lifecycle.  During the critical construction phase, we also serve as an extension of our client’s staff by providing construction management, engineering, and inspection services to see projects through on time, within budget, and with minimal impacts to the public and environment.

Drawing on a diverse portfolio and expert technical staff, we can help you meet the transportation challenges of today while creating a roadmap for tomorrow.

Health & Science

Understanding the drivers of the Health & Science industry, RS&H provides innovative solutions that promote the advancement of science and the practice of patient-centered care. Acknowledging the advancements made through Translational Medicine, we have developed teams of design professionals strictly focused on Health & Science facilities.

Our specialized health design professionals integrate evidence-based design processes with the latest application of equipment and technologies to support their work on in-patient and out-patient facilities for wellness, diagnostic, medical imaging, and treatment centers. RS&H uses Building Information Modeling (BIM) to effectively visualize and communicate design solutions from a project’s planning stages through construction administration and into facility management. We support major healthcare systems through the designs for MRI, LINAC, and Proton Beam suites, Women Centers, medical office buildings, and chemotherapy and dialysis suites.

Our specialized science design professionals respond to the needs of Academic Teaching and Research Facilities as well as Research, Development and Production centers for private, state, and federal organizations and agencies.

For more than 70 years, RS&H has been providing the Department of Defense (DoD) and its contractors with a single source for architectural and engineering design services.  Through our long history, RS&H understands how to successfully deliver military projects. Our professionals are engaged daily with our defense agencies and understand the changing landscape of national security.

RS&H has the experience and knowledge to partner with the federal government in designing for new construction, repurposing/renovating buildings, and assisting with planning and programming.  All projects are managed by seasoned project managers who are knowledgeable of all DoD criteria and standards for planning, design, and construction.

Our experience encompasses both CONUS and OCONUS installations, contracted through traditional design contracts, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity Contracts, and Design-Build partnerships.

RS&H has established a national reputation for market expertise in the design of corporate workplaces, financial, mission critical, and warehouse and logistics facilities.

Our primary goal is to serve corporate clients who seek an economic return on their investment through design and program management services in new and renovated facilities.  We know that the value of our services depends on our clients success in achieving such returns, and we strive for nothing less.

Since the 1960s, RS&H’s designs for manned and unmanned orbital and suborbital launch facilities, processing buildings, and ground support equipment have been instrumental in the advancement of space exploration and technology.  With unmatched experience in supporting all classes of launch vehicles, we offer solutions that are innovative, reliable, and that stand the test of time.

Our teams specialize in design, analysis, planning, construction administration, testing, and activation support for the aerospace industry worldwide.  This experience includes extensive designs supporting liquid and solid propellant vehicles, from small missiles to the largest rockets including Saturn V and Space Shuttle, as well as both vertical and horizontal launch programs.

Through our long history and depth of experience in planning and designing ground systems for numerous federal and commercial launch providers, we have developed a team of veteran engineers with the necessary data and knowledge to help our clients succeed in the competitive and constantly advancing aerospace industry.
