RS&H provided design and construction administration services for a 575,000-square-foot addition to an existing 525,000-square-foot full-service grocery and perishable Winn-Dixie distribution center.
The warehouse expansion included a new 150,000-square-foot freezer addition, a new 10,000-square-foot milk cooler, and a 360,000-square-foot expansion of the existing grocery warehouse.
The project also included a new 45,000-square-foot salvage, reclaim, and store maintenance facility and a 10,000-square-foot expansion of the gatehouse/maintenance garage, including a new truck fueling island with two, 12,000-gallon above-ground diesel fuel tanks.
RS&H also performed a life safety code review and plans were prepared indicating existing requirements and paths of egress for the entire 1.1 million-square-foot facility. In addition, complete fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems were designed for the facility.
