Security Upgrades at Capital Region International Airport
RS&H was retained to perform a comprehensive security/site assessment for airport terminal facilities. RS&H also performed terminal facility/operations planning for the integration of EDS, concept design, document preparation, bidding, and construction administration services for a complete upgrade to the Airport’s card access control system.
The access control and CCTV Upgrade included the following:
- Relocation of public safety and operations to a larger space
- Design of an emergency operations center
- Replacement of existing access control system with a new network-based system with a smart card and biometric readers
- Design of monitoring facility at ARFF to provide full control of the system at two locations
- Design of fiber optic communication infrastructure
- Design of secured data network including IEEE 802.11b wireless network
