Project Description

Palm Springs International Airport

Palm Springs International Airport is a busy resort airport that handles more than 1.4 million passengers annually. The City of Palm Springs selected RS&H to provide consulting services to Palm Springs International Airport for a five-year period. Under the General Consultant contract, RS&H has developed plans, specifications, and contract documents for the rehabilitation of Runway 13L-31R, Taxiway E, and cross-connector taxiways. The runway project was designed to be constructed so that the overall down time was minimized. A 1,000-foot extension of Taxilane J is also part of the improvements project. As part of the project, RS&H provided support to the Airport to achieve NEPA Categorical Exclusion for the improvements. Also, under the General Consultant Agreement, RS&H updated the Airport’s Pavement Condition Index (PCI) using statistical analysis and Micro PAVER computer software.
