Project Description
JRTC – Skyway Station
This project consisted of planning and enhancement for an existing Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) Skyway Station and a new transportation office building. Project users include the JTA, Florida Department of Transportation, and Metropolitan Planning Organization.
RS&H assisted in program development and schematic design for development of plazas and historical interpretive design theme for the first phase of a multimodal Jacksonville Transportation Center, the JTA Skyway Station. Our design solutions considered proposed site context, land uses, and retail uses within the project and its connectivity and relationship to Jacksonville Convention Center, with its historic train terminal motif. We assisted a team of professional landscape architects in the preparation of all project construction documentation, including tree preservation, hardscape, landscape, signage, lighting and irrigation plans for the JTA Skyway Station and the proposed transportation office building.
