Colorado Springs Airport Layout Plan Update

Located in the heart of Colorado Springs, the Colorado Springs Airport (COS) has consistently partnered with RS&H for many engineering, design, and consulting services since 2008. The Colorado Springs Airport Layout Plan orchestrates COS’s future development and strategic improvements. This comprehensive plan set includes various projects to enhance the airport’s infrastructure and operational efficiency. RS&H’s comprehensive planning approach expands beyond the standard update for Colorado Springs Airport. Each required and anticipated element was meticulously integrated into the Airport Layout Plan (ALP), using advanced mapping and surveying techniques to ensure compliance with FAA standards.  

The Airport Layout Plan Update presented unique challenges, including the updated geometries of Taxiway C, Aviation Way culvert, and Marksheffel Road land release. RS&H’s technical proficiency and adaptability allowed for precise incorporation and maintained accuracy and compliance throughout the process of developing 16 newly updated ALP sheets along with an up-to-date Exhibit A. 

RS&H used a forward-thinking mindset to anticipate future needs. Innovative solutions employed by RS&H addressed the immediate requirements and also paved the way for future enhancements.
