Ceva Logistics
Ceva Logistics, the world’s second largest logistics company, commissioned RS&H to perform a comprehensive facility condition survey for seven existing warehouse facilities: Laurens, South Carolina (1,200,000 square feet); Moody, Alabama (600,000 square feet); Elkton, Maryland (750,000 square feet); Temperance, Michigan (750,000 square feet); Houston, Texas (660,000 square feet); Reno, Nevada (625,000 square feet); and Monee, Illinois (700,000 square feet) as part of a transaction to sell the existing buildings.
Based on the client’s quick turnaround needed on the project, RS&H mobilized to the sites within days of contract execution. Due to the locations throughout the continental United States, RS&H utilized its national footprint of offices and several teams to accomplish the site inspections within two weeks. The condition survey consisted of visual inspections of the facilities to document deficient conditions. The condition survey report contained information regarding recommendations and approximate dollar values to correct deficient conditions observed including damaged areas, deterioration, and improper workmanship.
RS&H also evaluated the life expectancy of equipment, roofing, structural elements, and other building systems. RS&H reviewed building sealants, doors/windows, exterior/interior finishes, and operation of all loading dock doors and levelers.
The completed seven-volume report including detailed summaries, photographs, and budget costs was provided to the client within three weeks of contract execution, ahead of schedule.
