For Brittany Scuncio, it’s not enough to do what’s asked of her.
“She’s an overachiever,” said Senior Talent Acquisition Manager Wanda Luong, her supervisor. “She doesn’t just do what her job description says. She works to be a lot of things for a lot of different people.”
Brittany’s job title is Talent Acquisition Corporate Recruiter for the Aviation, Contractor Delivery and IT groups. Her work, though, spans the human resources spectrum and includes assistance with the recent TSH acquisition.
Brittany relocated to Denver from Jacksonville last year, expanding the human resources presence to the West at a key time, as RS&H’s acquisition of TSH came to fruition. Brittany works one to two days a week in the former TSH office in Greenwood, serving as a core human resources resource for associates.
Entry Level to Recruiting for Largest Practice
Just five years ago, Brittany was an entry level recruiter, working under Wanda at their former company. She followed Wanda to RS&H two years ago and has since positioned herself as a go-getter within RS&H. She now oversees recruiting for one of the largest practices in RS&H: Aviation.
In the next five years, Wanda sees Brittany continuing to grow in her role, taking on more responsibilities.
Brittany grew up in Jacksonville, one of eight children.
“I think that’s why she’s so mature,” said Wanda. “There’s a responsibility and maturity to her that most people just don’t have at her level of experience.”
But under her even-keeled professionalism rests a keen sense of humor, said Senior Talent Acquisition Corporate Recruiter Katie Steverson.
“We’re a fun group in general, but Brittany is especially funny,” said Katie. “She’s just so quick-witted. It was great to have her in Jacksonville, and we still get to see her fairly often now over video conference or in person.”
Just last month, Brittany organized an Aviation college recruiting event in Jacksonville. With 32 students in attendance, the event marked the Practice’s largest college recruiting event ever. The prep alone was substantial, with Brittany conducting 150 to 200 screenings to whittle the attendees down to the 30 students who joined Practice leadership at RS&H headquarters.
“Every year, it’s become more successful and grown larger under Brittany’s leadership,” said Wanda. “She’s such an asset to RS&H.”
The way Brittany sees it, she’s gotten as much as she has given at RS&H. Her work has been challenging, rewarding – and full of opportunities, she says. That includes her move to Denver.
“It was good professionally to have an HR person in the West,” said Brittany. “But I also had personally wanted to go out to Colorado for a while. It was the perfect match of professional and personal reasons.”
In her free time, Brittany enjoys exploring the mountains through various activities. From skiing to hiking, she takes advantage of the opportunity to trade a lifetime of sand for an adventure in the snow.
