In its December issue, the prestigious TR News featured an article by RS&H Spaceport Planning Lead, Richard Rogers titled, “Commercial Spaceports: Building the Foundation of a Commercial Space Transportation Network.”
In the comprehensive article, he discusses the different types of spaceports (10 so far have been licensed in the U.S.), innovative designs, vehicle types, public impact, research, and regulations.
“Spaceports are here, and are inching ever closer to the spaceports imagined and depicted in the movies,” he said. “In the not too distant future, spacecraft will be zipping people from the surface of the Earth into space and back again. Space flight no longer will be the privilege of a few astronauts. The Commercial Space Transportation Network is in development now.”
