ENR’s transportation editor, Aileen Cho, recently reported on Houston’s Ellington Field’s spaceport plans to take tourists into space. According to Arturo Machuca, Ellington’s General Manager, the airport obtained its license in 2015 making it the 10th in the nation and the first to be located in a vibrant urban environment.

RS&H served as the consultant for obtaining the license from the FAA.

“Within the next 10 years, there will be several kinds of operational vehicles that will launch from them (spaceports),” said Ken Ibold, senior aviation consultant with RS&H.
