“RS&H understands the balance between work and family.”
Working for RS&H provides me everything needed to be successful when designing infrastructure throughout communities. As a project manager, I am able to work alongside a great group of individuals who always bring something special to the team. RS&H values its associates and invests in their development. This makes it exciting coming to work each day. It also encourages me to hone my craft and develop other niches to add to my experiences.
Not only am I fortunate to work with innovative, creative individuals, but I also have the opportunity to work on a magnitude of award-winning projects. And I get to enjoy the successes of their outcomes.

Career Growth and Opportunity
“I’ve had the opportunity to work on recognizable projects that influence the communities we live in.”
I’ve worked at RS&H since 2002, and it’s been a great company to advance my career. I started as a project engineer working on the award-winning Bridge of Lions project in St. Augustine, Florida. Increased project responsibility with my role as the Project Director for the Overland Bridge Replacement helped provide profound experience that accelerated my career. Now, I currently serve as a Vice President of Transportation and the Jacksonville Office Leader.
Through my period of growth, RS&H has supported my involvement in numerous professional societies and I currently sit on several boards. We have a great culture that encourages teamwork and mentoring while balancing family time. I’ve had the opportunity to work on recognizable projects that influence the communities we live in. To do that and be a part of a passionate team are the reasons why I love RS&H.

Living the American Dream
“My family and I moved to the US in search of opportunity.”
After spending three years in a refugee camp in Turkey after a war broke out in Bosnia, my family and I moved to the US in search of opportunity. I was 17 at the time and didn’t speak any English, but I knew I wanted to attend college and follow a career path in information technology (IT). After graduating with an associate degree in IT Networking from Florida State College of Jacksonville and receiving several Cisco certifications, I joined RS&H at 22 years old in 2002 and haven’t stopped learning since then.
I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in computer science from University of North Florida, and I’m currently attending Colorado State to receive a Master of IT Management. RS&H is very supportive of continuing education. They understand that learning new skills is essential in IT to keep up with the rapidly changing technologies and ability to recognize new emerging technologies that we can directly apply in our industry to improve on project delivery for our clients. I try to go the extra mile to find and implement solutions to problems the department encounters, striving to make RS&H a more efficient place to work.

A Career That’s Lead to RS&H
“After running my own boutique architecture and design firm for 20 years, I realized I wanted to expand my career goals once again.”
My whole life I’ve been learning, and it truly is a life-long process. After I received my bachelor’s degree in design at 22 years old, I went on to earn my Masters of Arts at 29. Later in life, I returned to school and earned an architecture degree at 42. I would sit at the kitchen table with my two kids while we all studied together.
Simultaneously, I worked full time my entire career, was a single mother, and founded and built my own architecture and design firm. Life throws many obstacles at you, and I’ve had my share. Be persistent. There’s always a solution to obtain your goals and work around those obstacles. It’s amazing how many people will help you along the path if you just ask.
After running my boutique architecture and design firm for 20 years, I realized I wanted to expand my career goals once again. I wanted to offer my skills and knowledge to a broader client base and work on large-scale projects. After a national search, I came across RS&H.
Reaching out to RS&H on a Friday afternoon, I heard back on Sunday to set up a Monday morning meet and greet. Walking through the door, you could feel the positive vibe. The meeting turned into a wonderful conversation, and I realized these were people I’d like to work with every day. Through the interview process, the level of integrity and interest from the executive team showed the company cared about me and my work. The variety of markets and opportunity to work on complex and intriguing projects is refreshing, and I enjoy being a part of this innovative team. I’m excited about this chapter of my life – excited to learn and contribute.

A Diverse Environment
“There’s a variety of scale when it comes to projects.”
Working at RS&H has helped me broaden my professional skills. I’ve had the advantage to work directly with other disciplines, leading me to make better decisions that improve our projects. Being such a diverse company as we are, there’s a variety of scale when it comes to projects and the amount of coordination required. Having integrated development meetings and coordinating among several disciplines, you grow as a stronger professional when you can communicate with other disciplines in-house.

Life at RS&H
“True teamwork and camaraderie –
that’s what it’s like to work at RS&H.”
When I first started here, I was immediately impressed by how friendly everyone was. This was especially evident during my first team conference call across multiple offices. Team meetings can often become dry and boring. On the contrary, everyone was happy to be there, sharing experiences, news, and even laughing.
Even over the phone, I could sense the energy. When faced with workload issues, others were wholeheartedly willing to help. I could tell I was part of a team willing to face any challenge with an optimistic perspective. Furthermore, I immediately and genuinely established trust with my teammates – as they did with me. It’s this mentality that keeps me motivated in my job and willing to help others. Work is not about just clocking in and out. It’s about the people.
This sense of teamwork and camaraderie has also extended to our clients. One of our regional leader’s philosophies is to hold weekly update meetings with each client and include individuals representing all of our service groups. Even across our different service lines, a genuine willingness to help each other shines through. It shows a proactive and united front and helps build our trust and relationships with our clients, leading to future work opportunities.
