Who We Serve

Energy Management

Utility Audits

RS&H remains ahead of the curve in our commitment to energy and environmental performance, having been one of the first firms to begin offering energy audit services more than 30 years ago. Since the early 1980s, we have performed energy audits on thousands of buildings worldwide.

Our team of certified energy managers offers unparalleled experience in almost every building type. We have developed an array of energy savings calculation templates, which allow us to quickly and efficiently tailor an audit to meet your needs.

RS&H is also uniquely proficient in all aspects of energy audits for federal government facilities involving Buildings Life-Cycle Cost (BLCC) software, Standard Form 1391, and Energy Conservation Investment Program (ECIP) projects.

Renewable Technologies Evaluation

RS&H helps clients develop comprehensive efficiency strategies to reduce energy consumption using the latest technology in renewable energy.  With emerging technologies coming to the market at an accelerating pace, our energy engineers provide clients with expert evaluations of these new technologies to ensure they select and implement systems that result in the greatest benefit.

We have provided federal and state agencies, electric utilities, private entities, and international clients with the marketing knowledge, analysis, and installation oversight for numerous technologies, including:

  • Solar Thermal
  • Photovoltaics
  • Biomass
  • Geothermal
  • Wind Energy

Energy Modeling

RS&H’s professional architects and engineers routinely use computer modeling software to ensure that our designs meet the strictest requirements for energy and water efficiencies. Using this software, as well as custom spreadsheets based on energy modeling tools, we are able to investigate and understand the true interactions of all building elements following the concept of whole building design.

Our teams frequently employ the following modeling software:

  • Trane Trace™ 700
  • Carrier’s HAP
  • eQuest®
  • US Department of Energy’s EnergyPlus

RS&H follows the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) 90.1 Appendix G guidelines, as well as all LEED energy modeling requirements to ensure a building’s energy performance meets clients' expectations.
