Who We Serve

Utility Audits

US Department of State Water & Energy Audits

RS&H conducted comprehensive energy and water surveys, as well as developed utility cost saving projects on the basis of detailed energy and life cycle cost evaluations for U.S. State Department facilities worldwide. Sites included 11 U.S. Embassies and their associated facilities in ten countries.

A wide range of projects was developed, including architectural changes, lighting systems, HVAC and innovative systems, such as solar water distillation. The survey also included verification of the existing electricity utility billing meter. A calibrated recording kilowatt-hour meter is connected parallel to the existing meter and readings are compared while on site.

RS&H developed energy and water saving projects for 389 of the buildings, representing almost 2,000,000 square feet of floor area. Total potential savings were close to $1 million per year.

Web-based AAFES Utility Tracking System (WATTS)

RS&H designed a web-based utility tracking system for The Exchange, which can be accessed by almost 300 users for entering utility use and cost data for over 900 facilities. The system analyzes the data and generates reports, allowing energy managers to quickly identify high energy using buildings, pinpoint billing errors, and track progress towards energy intensity reduction goals. This system contributed to The Exchange being named a 2012 Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) winner for Energy Efficiency.

Defense Commissary Agency Energy Management

Since 1995, RS&H has been providing energy management services to the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA), an agency of the US Department of Defense that operates more than 250 commissaries worldwide.  Projects have included:
Energy Surveys & Audits RS&H performed comprehensive energy, water, environmental, and maintenance audits of 90 facilities located in the United States, Europe, and Japan. The team also developed energy projects estimated to save the agency more than $1.9 million annually.
