Contract Support Specialist Jill Clarke in RS&H’s Marathon, Florida, office spoke to a group of high school students last month about civil engineering at Spanish River High School in Boca Raton, Florida. She created an hour-long presentation for the Women of Tomorrow Mentor and Scholarship Program, Inc. (WOT).

The WOT mentoring and scholarship program targets at-risk high school students and the organization provides a highly accomplished professional woman to speak to the girls once a month to discuss ways to overcome obstacles and to provide skills for success.

These young women can be mentored by professional women and obtain a full-ride college scholarship from this program. WOT has already awarded millions of dollars in scholarships.

“Being a current mentor of two financially needy college girls (FSU and FAU), I find it important to be a positive role model to these students,” Jill said. “I agreed to do this presentation because I want to positively influence at-risk high school girls to strive for a higher education. It’s so amazing how these mentoring and scholarship programs provide the funding and mentors for these young intelligent students, who are lacking the guidance and/or finances to become successful.”

The picture included shows half the students that were there that day. There were over 30 who attended her presentation.
