Matt Schnelle is a heck of a juggler. As a project manager, client manager, officer manager and state manager, Schnelle always has a lot of balls in the air.
Those balls don’t hit the ground, says Aviation Vice President Paul Karas.
“Matt succeeds as a multitasker on various fronts, with many simultaneous small and simple, and large and complex projects,” Karas said of Schnelle. “In addition, Matt has served as a good mentor of junior associates, making sure that the younger associate’s needs are being met for professional growth.”
Given his growth and success, Schnelle has earned Project Manager of the Year honors for RS&H.
“It’s an honor to me and I greatly appreciate the award,” Schnelle said. “The people at RS&H are always impressing not only me, but clients, teammates, competitors, and the consulting community.
“A good reputation is a great asset. To be recognized for contributing to the success and growth of the firm is very satisfying.”
In FY17, Schnelle served as project manager on 15 projects, totaling nearly $1.1 million in revenue. In addition, he has made every scheduled deadline associated with project delivery on those projects. Since joining RS&H in 2004, he has served as project manager on more than 50 projects, totaling over $3.6 million in revenue, with his actual project multiplier matching his goal multiplier each year.
As state manager in the Columbus office, Schnelle has done an excellent job growing the Ohio aviation market for RS&H. Not only has he succeeded in winning re-selection for the Clinton County and Columbus Regional Airport Authorities, but he also manages to keep work flowing consistently from the clients. He has also brought in large projects, such as the win for the design, construction administration and materials testing services for rehabilitation of terminal apron asphalt and Taxiway E at John Glenn International Airport.
Schnelle attributes his success to those around him.
“I have learned from, been supported by, and given chances to succeed by a long list of people at RS&H,” he said. “I try to take the opportunity to listen to, and learn from, all of the people I interact with within and outside of RS&H.”
