Winston-Salem Northern Beltway EIS Alternatives Analysis Winston-Salem, North Carolina RS&H was part of a consultant team that prepared a comprehensive Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for a new interstate beltway for the City of Winston-Salem. RS&H’s specific responsibility was to prepare an Alternatives Analysis (AA) and feasibility study of upgrading the US 52 corridor from a four-lane urban freeway to an eight-lane interstate highway. The AA documented the existing transportation conditions and the future travel demand along the 12-mile study corridor. This analysis also evaluated alternative highway improvement concepts that would provide increased capacity, mobility and operational safety of this facility. |

US 84 Comprehensive Corridor Study Liberty Consolidated Planning Commission, Georgia The Liberty Consolidated Planning Commission (LCPC) has initiated a multijurisdictional, comprehensive corridor study for US 84. The area, which includes Liberty County, a portion of Long County and five local jurisdictions, is being studied in concert with the LCPC’s update to the Liberty County Comprehensive Plan. While key transportation issues such as safety, access management and congestion are prime concerns, this study is unusual because it entails a comprehensive, integrated approach and looks further than transportation issues. |
