![]() Project Description: The Georgia Coastal Comprehensive Plan, which stems from an Executive Order issued by the Governor, provides a framework for accommodating the growth in the six-county region while preserving the area’s natural environment and maintaining the area’s unique sense of place. This plan is the first regional plan developed by the State of Georgia. The RS&H team took the effort beyond a singular focus to encompass a comprehensive, broad perspective that incorporates community values, needs, land use, and modal alternatives. This review helped identify the relationship to sustainable quality growth principles, such as conservation of open space, resource protection, transportation connectivity and the provision of alternative modes. As part of the process, the Coastal Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee (CCPAC) was assembled to maintain a regional perspective and guide the planning process and provide input into the development of the regional plan. |
