Project Description:

In addition to design services, RS&H provided commissioning services HVAC, lighting, and water systems, as well as the Building Automation System for the Bishop International Airport terminal, and a 100,000-square-foot expansion. Project recommendations included:

  • Upgrading T12 lights for T8 which is anticipated to decrease the lighting portion of the electric bill by 35%

  • Replacing fluorescent exit signs with LED ones, saving 64% in annual energy costs and decreasing carbon emissions by nearly 70%

  • Installing light sensors to decrease lighting during the daytime and motion sensors to mitigate unnecessary lighting at night

The new terminal has been honored with numerous awards, including Michigan Department of Transportation’s Project of the Year and American Institute of Architects’ Project of the Year. RS&H was selected as MDOT’s Consultant of the Year.
