Client:
Jacksonville Aviation Authority

RS&H Role/Responsibility:
Architect and Engineer

Project Description:

As the lead Architect/Engineer, RS&H was an integral part of the Owner, CM At-Risk, AE team for a staged expansion of the terminal to 700,000 square feet, including reconstruction of the concourses to provide 30 modern gates. Over the past ten years, the team has accomplished all of the goals appropriate to the level of passenger demand for the facility. With $200 million spread across seven major project groups, the CM At-Risk process proved its value with on time, under budget projects at each stage. The projects included a 2,400-space daily garage, modifying the existing garage to an hourly facility with a state-of-the-art space-finding system, a pedestrian accessway with powerwalks and escalators, roadway and surface parking expansion, fully integrated 100-percent checked baggage explosive detection system, a centralized security checkpoint expansion, and two new ten-gate concourses with provisions for addition of the third.
