Academic Research and Teaching Facilities Our team understands the challenges posed to academic institutions. The need to provide high technology with high design is essential to attract national research talent, which in turn drives the academic engine. Increases in design requirements for advanced equipment needs and increased pressure to contain costs provides the backdrop for our creative challenges. Multidisciplinary approaches to advancements in scientific investigation bridge departments and bring new collaborations between once independent principal investigators. Our architectural solutions bridge engineering advancements with environmental sensitivity and create the balance that fosters interaction and stimulates synergetic science. |

Tissue Processing Facilities One of the fastest growing components in medical technology are tissue banking and processing facilities. Owned by either private foundations or associated with medical research centers, these facilities incorporate the latest FDA requirements for processing, testing, and cryogenically storing and retrieving surgically implantable tissue. RS&H is a leader in the design industry for these facilities and has developed the four most recent centers in the Southeast, including M2Gen (an affiliation of Moffitt Cancer Research Center and Merck pharmaceuticals) and LifeLink. |

cGMP Production Facilities As prime architect or consultant to prime engineering firms, RS&H supports the industry in facilities master planning, pilot plant and production area design. From small tank farm expansions and wash areas to large aseptic production areas and QA/QC laboratories, RS&H incorporates material and personnel flow analysis to maximize usable space and minimize gross areas for efficient and effective facility layouts. Minimizing process travel times for simple tasks by process flow and adjacency analysis results in reduced process time and maximizes staff production. RS&H understands these simple design techniques to give owners every benefit to improve production efficacy and improve production cost containment. |
