Crew Launch Vehicle, Mobile Launcher Design NASA, Kennedy Space Center, Florida This 390-feet-tall, 10-million-pound mobile structure is used to launch the NASA Ares I launch vehicle. The Mobile Launcher is used to move the Ares I vehicle from the Vertical Assembly Building to the Launch Complex. The Mobile Launcher is parked on permanent pedestals at the pad and is used as the surface to launch the Ares I vehicle. |

Spaceport Master Plan - State of Florida Space Florida RS&H’s Aerospace program developed the comprehensive Spaceport Master Plan for Florida’s state space agency known as “Space Florida.” The Plan addresses modernization and expansion of Florida’s current spaceport entities, as well as interactions relative to NASA and DoD facilities, and the vision for the creation of new spaceports and related facilities throughout the state. It includes site selection evaluations based on both the Spaceport Evaluation Mechanism and the Launch Site Viability Evaluation. Also addressed are the interactions with Metropolitan Planning Organizations, the Florida DOT and the Strategic Intermodal System. |
